Greeninvest and Iberdrola sign a co-development agreement for 327 MW of renewable energy plants.
The wind and photovoltaic plants will be located in Italy.
Operational in 2024, they will provide enough energy to power approximately 168,000 homes, saving 134,000 tonnes/year of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
Genoa, 4th August 2022 – Greeninvest, an investment company that develops and manages green and renewable energy projects, has signed an agreement with Iberdrola for the development of 17 photovoltaic and wind power plants located in Italy, with a total capacity of 327 MW.
Of the total capacity, 84 MW are related to 7 new solar and 243 MW to 10 wind power projects. Once in operation, by 2024, they will provide enough energy to power approximately 168,000 homes, saving 134,000 tonnes/year of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
The agreement with Iberdrola – one of the world leaders in the renewable energy sector – contributes to strengthening Greeninvest’s growth path, in line with the current Strategic Plan. The development path also includes the development and construction of plants in other countries for a total of 1 GW.
In addition, Greeninvest will initiate IPP activity through the construction of the first directly-owned photovoltaic investments that will see full operation by 2022 for a total capacity of 10MW and up to 50MW in 2023.
“As Greeninvest, we have chosen to pursue a clear strategy that sees us as protagonists in the energy transition and very active in decarbonisation” – said Gian Luca Greco, CEO of Greeninvest – “We are confident that this synergy with an international group like Iberdrola represents a great step both towards the goals we have set ourselves as a company, and for the entire Italian renewables scene”.
